Alternate Nostril Breathing Technique
One popular breathing exercise is alternate nostril breathing, also known as Nadi Shodhana in yoga. This technique helps balance the two hemispheres of the brain and can have a calming effect on the mind.
How to Practice Alternate Nostril Breathing:
- Sit comfortably with a straight spine.
- Place your left hand on your left knee with the palm open to the sky.
- Bring your right hand to your face. Use your right thumb to close your right nostril and inhale through your left nostril.
- Close your left nostril with your right ring finger, release your right nostril, and exhale through the right nostril.
- Inhale through the right nostril, close the right nostril, release the left, and exhale through the left nostril.
- This completes one cycle. Repeat for several rounds.
Regular practice of alternate nostril breathing can help calm the mind, reduce stress, and improve overall well-being.

Remember, the breath is always with us, offering a simple yet profound way to enhance our health and vitality. Take a few moments each day to connect with your breath and experience the transformative power it holds.
